Graça S. Carvalho is a Full Professor at the University of Minho, Braga, Portugal, and Director of the Research Centre on Child Studies (CIEC) of the same University. She got her first degree in Biology (University of Coimbra), a master degree in Biology (University of Cambridge, UK) and other in Health Education and Health Promotion (King’s College London, UK), the PhD degree in Biology (University of Aveiro, Portugal) and the Aggregation title in the Health Education field (University of Minho, Portugal).
She has developed postgraduate research training in Biology Education, Child Health, Health Education. She was awarded the honorary degree of “Doctor Honoris Causa” by the University of Lyon 1, France in 2017, and the "Women in Science" award by the Portuguese Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education in 2019.
